Note: Now you can replace some or all of the pictures in the picture bingo option withvocabulary words to help teach students vocabulary.

We have three different types of picture bingo cards that you canmake: 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 picture bingo using pictures from a themethat you select or substitute vocabulary words that you provide. You may also choose to print the blank bingo cardsand then, like one viewer did, give children a variety of stickers to make theirown. (Thanks for the suggestion Jeanne.)

We also have a traditional 5x5 number bingo card available to print. The 'free space' of this card is thematic.

You may want to laminate the bingo cards after you printthem. You can also print the call sheet on heavier paper or glue the pageto a piece of cardboard before you cut the call pieces out. These twosuggestions will allow you to use these bingo cards for many, many games.

You'll notice that I've combined a few themes that I typicallylist separately (for example, I combined Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, DragonTales and Maggie and the Ferocious Beast to make the 'Young ChildrenShows' bingo card). This was necessary because I need 30 images tomake a bingo card and it's tough to come up with 30 different images for oneshow.

Have fun!

One of the many blessings of living in California is that we are on the coast, so regular trips to the beach are possible. We also boast a number of wonderful aquariums where kids can learn all about ocean animals.

If you have a child who loves the ocean or if you are planning an ocean unit, I have a new resource to offer today: my Ocean Animal Bingo game.

Note: For more ocean printables and lots of ocean-themed activities, see my Ocean Unit Study page.

Did you know that playing Bingo can help children develop their executive functioning skills? Executive functioning skills are controlled by the frontal cortex of the brain, and they are integral to the development of important skills such as impulse control. (We all want our kids to exhibit better impulse control, right?)

Changing up the rules each time you play Ocean Bingo is a great way to give kids' executive functioning skills a workout. For example, the first time kids need to get a straight line to win. The next time kids need to get the four corners to win. The next time kids need to fill in all squares to win. Free bingo bash credits. Mixing it up like this will help kids develop flexibility in their thinking.

My Ocean Animal Bingo game printable features a total of 10 different playing cards. Here is a sneak peak at the first six:

And here is a sneak peak at the calling cards used for playing:

You can play blackout Bingo, four corners Bingo, or line Bingo with these cards. No matter how you play, my Ocean Animal Bingo game provides a great opportunity to learn about the animals that inhabit our ocean while having fun at the same time.
